Selling Ammo

Jun 1st 2025

I have added ammo to the store but only for local sales.  I don't want to deal with the shipping and having to deal with UPS to ship ammo and there are plenty of places on line for ammo and for many of you locally.  However in my small town ammo is hard to find so I did this for local sales only.

While we are talking about ammo I want to point out something my Grandfather told me.  He said back in the depression ammo was money and you could go into any speakeasy and lay a 32/20 round on the counter and get a shot of top shelve Canadian Bonded Wiskey.   He also said a guy charged him $.10 cent for five .22 rounds and he wanted to kick his ass but needed the ammo because that put five meals on the table.

Point of the above is that ammo will be barter.  In a long term break down of our social order after some major incident shelves will be bare and cash money useless.  You will not be able to take your gold and silver and get food or other items you need.   But ammo will be like money and if you stock up on the main rounds used in your area and keep it dry it will last many years.  I still shoot some surplus stuff from the 1960's and '70's when I can find it.

So add rounds that you don't even use to you stores as they are for barter.  Example of that is I have no rilfes in 30.06 but I have ammo cans of it for barter as it is a popular round in my rural area.

If you want to really insure you ammo last forever get one of those Food Storage Vaccum Sealer and seal the rounds in the vaccum bags that remove all the air out and will also keep the ammo dry.

If you haven't thought about barter being the only way to get things other than stealing them then think aobut this.  Here are some of things what will be valuable for barter list below:

Food and seeds,  Water, Medicines, guns and ammo, warm cothing, fuel, candles, alcohol and of course one that has been selling for thousands of years the worlds oldest profession.
