Note: This mag is for the 1911 Officer Model, 1911 Agent and 1911 Defender and other Compact sized models. It is important because the stand off at the bottom keeps the magazine from entering the receiver and breaking off the ejector of your weapon. You could load high cap magazines in these models say for range practice if you are very carful as the stand off would be set for a full size grip on those type magazines. However, in a fight you don't have time to do this and need a rapid mag change so you should only carry the magazines designed for your model.
